📖 Key Information

Nethermost Pike at 891m (2,923ft) is the first of the great eastern summits south of Helvellyn, standing above the head of the Nethermost Cove corrie. Wainwright described its east face as one of the most impressive in the district — the great crag of Nethermost Cove dropping steeply to the path below Striding Edge. The summit is most naturally reached as part of the Helvellyn ridge traverse from Glenridding or Patterdale, and few walkers who climb Helvellyn miss it as they cross the high plateau. The views across to Catstycam and down to Red Tarn are excellent.
