📖 Key Information

Base Brown at 646m (2,119ft) is a craggy summit above Seathwaite in Borrowdale, its north face dropping in crags to the Borrowdale valley. Wainwright noted the fine views of the Borrowdale valley from the summit and the excellent position above Sourmilk Gill. The ascent from Seathwaite farm is short and direct via the Taylorgill Force path. Most naturally combined with Green Gable and Great Gable for a Seathwaite circuit — the classic Borrowdale approach to the Gable group.
