📖 Key Information

Crag Fell at 523m (1,716ft) stands above the southern shore of Ennerdale Water, its summit giving excellent views of the lake — one of the most remote and peaceful of all the Lakeland lakes. Wainwright noted the fine Ennerdale views from the summit and the pleasant walking on this little-frequented western fell. The ascent from Ennerdale Bridge is easy and rewarding. Combined naturally with Grike for a short Ennerdale Water circuit.

No regular bus serves the start points for this fell — this is one for the car (or a long approach from the nearest served valley). The nearest hubs are Penrith (X4/X5 & 508), Ambleside and Windermere (555, 505, 516).
