📖 Key Information

Binsey at 447m (1,467ft) is a solitary, isolated fell above Bassenthwaite village, its rounded summit entirely separate from any other fell group. Wainwright was fond of it for this very reason — the views from the top are surprisingly wide and unobstructed, with Bassenthwaite Lake to the south, Skiddaw to the east and the Solway to the north all visible. The short ascent from Binsey Lodge is rewarding for the effort involved. A good fell for children or beginners wanting a genuine Lakeland summit with wide views.

🎯 Bonus Birketts within 3 km

No bonus Birketts within 3 km — every Birkett near here is already a Wainwright summit, so just enjoy the walk.
