📖 Key Information

Walla Crag at 379m (1,244ft) is the great rocky escarpment above Derwent Water, its summit giving one of the finest aerial views of the lake in the whole district. Wainwright praised the view across Derwent Water from the crag edge — the lake's wooded shores, islands and the backdrop of the Newlands Fells composing into a picture of great beauty. The ascent from Keswick via Cat Gill is excellent, with the lake views improving throughout. A perfect short fell for visitors to Keswick, or as the start of the longer ridge walk to Bleaberry Fell and High Seat.
