📖 Key Information

Place Fell at 657m (2,156ft) is the great ridge fell on the eastern shore of Ullswater, its long summit ridge giving one of the finest views of the lake in all Lakeland. Wainwright praised it warmly, describing the view across Ullswater to Helvellyn and the Eastern Fells as among the most beautiful lake views from any fell. The traverse of the full ridge from Sandwick to Patterdale is an excellent walk, with the option of catching the Ullswater steamer back. The eastern face drops to the secluded valley of Boredale, a rewarding quieter descent.
