📖 Key Information

Gray Crag at 638m (2,093ft) stands above Hayeswater and Hartsop, its steep eastern face dropping to the Hayeswater valley in a series of crags. Wainwright noted the fine views of Hayeswater from the summit and the good prospect of the High Street range to the north. The ascent from Hartsop via the direct ridge is short and entertaining. Often combined with The Knott and Thornthwaite Crag for a Hayeswater circuit. A modest but satisfying summit with good views of this quiet corner of the Eastern Fells.
