📖 Key Information

The south top of Harter Fell (Eskdale) at 640m (2,100ft) is a separate rocky summit on the southern ridge of the fell, giving good views south over Dunnerdale and west towards the coast. A Birkett top that rewards those who traverse the full Harter Fell ridge. The views of the Duddon estuary from this southern point are distinctive — a different perspective from the main summit above Eskdale.

No regular bus serves the start points for this fell — this is one for the car (or a long approach from the nearest served valley). The nearest hubs are Penrith (X4/X5 & 508), Ambleside and Windermere (555, 505, 516).
