📖 Key Information

Caudale Moor at 763m (2,503ft), also known as Stony Cove Pike, stands above the Kirkstone Pass with fine views of the Patterdale and Ambleside valleys. Wainwright included it as a fell of interest for its position above the pass and the views it gives north to the Helvellyn range and south to Windermere. The summit area is broad and stony, with the two separate tops of Caudale Moor and Stony Cove Pike both worthy of a visit. Most naturally reached from Hartsop or from the Kirkstone Inn, combined with Thornthwaite Crag to the north.

🎯 Bonus Birketts within 3 km

These Birkett tops are not Wainwright summits — detour to them on this walk and they are pure profit. Distances are straight-line; allow extra for terrain.
