The Knott

The Knott is a modest top of 284m (932ft) among the Dunnerdale Fells, on the rough moorland east of the Duddon valley between Broughton Mills and Ulpha. One of the summits in Wainwright's Outlying Fells, it is usually picked up with Stickle Pike, Great Stickle and the neighbouring knotts on a pathless wander. Quiet, little-visited ground with a fine outlook over the Duddon and the higher southern fells.

Forestry England car park on the east side of the lake road south of Brantwood (OS SD 301 893). A steeper alternative start for the Bethecar Moor fells, climbing through the woodland past Parkamoor.
