Pikes

Pikes (469 m / 1,539 ft) is the highest of the heather tops on Torver Back Common, the broad shoulder of low fell south of Coniston between the lake and the Duddon. From its rocky top the view runs down Coniston Water and south over the Furness peninsula to Morecambe Bay. A Wainwright Outlying Fell and a Birkett, it is naturally linked with Green Pikes just below. This is trackless, tussocky ground — a spot for the summit-collector and anyone wanting the Coniston fells to themselves for a morning.
