Low Saddle
Low Saddle at 656m (2,153ft) is a Birkett top above the head of Langstrath in the Central Fells, its position on the ridge giving views down into the wild Langstrath valley and across to the Glaramara ridge.

The 555 stops at Thirlmere, at Armboth turn. From there it is 1.8 km and 54 m of ascent to the start of Birketts West of Thirlmere — a route we rate Severe overall (hardest: distance) — a walk in before the walk. If you need to get off (the leg from Coldbarrow Fell - High Saddle): There are no immediate lateral escapes here. You must push forward to the Bell Crags area or reverse your route south.
