Hesk Fell
Hesk Fell at 478m (1,569ft) is a Birkett fell on the open moors 2.4 km north-west of Ulpha, above the Duddon valley, its summit giving views across the coastal plain and out to sea. An atmospheric fell with extensive sea views on a clear day.

If you need to get off (the leg from The Pike): No way off Hesk Fell other than the route has been checked for this guide; if you need to turn back, retrace the route to The Pike. Do not bail west, as this will pull you deeper into the trackless void of the Birker Fell plateau.
