573 mOutlying Fell — West Cumbria✓ summit is also a Birkett+3 bonus Birketts within 3 km
📖 Key Information
Whitfell at 573m (1,880ft) is the highest point of the remote moorland plateau above the Duddon estuary in west Cumbria, giving outstanding views south across Morecambe Bay and west to the Irish Sea. Wainwright explored this area in his Outlying Fells guide, noting the superb coastal panorama and the wild, unfrequented character of this western moorland. The ascent from Corney Fell or Duddon gives a genuine sense of remoteness. The views of the Scafells on clear days from this coastal vantage are dramatic.

🎯 Bonus Birketts within 3 km
These Birkett tops are not Wainwright summits — detour to them on this walk and they are pure profit. Distances are straight-line; allow extra for terrain.
