Blawith Knott at a glance

Blawith Knott

Blawith Knott (248 m / 814 ft) has the best view of the whole Blawith round — south over the Cumbrian estuaries to Black Combe, with the Duddon valley merging into the Coniston fells. It is the high point of a breezy expanse of heather common between Coniston Water and the Duddon, most easily climbed from the Brown Howe car park on the lake shore and linked with Tottlebank Height, Wool Knott and Beacon Fell. The name is from knott (Old Norse knútr, a rocky knoll). A Wainwright Outlying Fell: a short climb for a genuinely wide, sea-to-mountain view.

The short answers

Is Blawith Knott a Wainwright?

Blawith Knott is one of Wainwright's Outlying Fells, not one of the 214 in the Pictorial Guides.

Where do you park for Blawith Knott?

We hold no car park within 2.5 km of the summit, so there is no short walk-in to recommend here. We only look within 2.5 km, measured straight-line: over longer distances a road may cross a pass and the drive bears no relation to the line.
