📖 Key Information

Whitbarrow at 215m (705ft) is a magnificent limestone escarpment above the Lyth valley, its white scarp edge — visible from miles around — giving outstanding views of Morecambe Bay, the Kent estuary and the Lakeland fells. Wainwright included it in his Outlying Fells guide, praising the fine bay views and the unusual character of the limestone plateau. An SSSI of rare limestone flora. The traverse of the scarp edge is a classic South Lakeland walk.
