Reston Scar at 255m (837ft) is an Outlying Fell on the limestone escarpment above the Winster valley in the South Lakeland group, its rocky scarp edge giving views across the pastoral valley towards Windermere and the Lake District fells.

Getting to Reston Scar by bus
The 555 stops at Staveley, at Brow Lane, 400 m from the nearest parking for this fell. We haven’t mapped a route up it, so we can’t tell you the walk from there to the start. Last bus: Monday to Friday 23:50 towards Kendal (555); Saturday 23:50 towards Kendal (555); Sunday 22:28 towards Kendal (6). Checked against the operator’s timetable, 12 September 2026. By train: Staveley station is 840 m on foot from the nearest parking for this fell (Reston Scar car park (free)). We haven’t mapped a route up it from there, so we can’t tell you the walk to the start. First train in 06:30, last train out 22:52, Monday to Friday, checked 12 September; Saturday and Sunday.
