The south top of Skiddaw at 926m (3,038ft) is the subsidiary summit south of Skiddaw's main summit, a broad top on the smooth slate ridges giving excellent views south to the Helvellyn range and across Derwent Water.

✎️ Start from the pay-and-display forestry car park at Dodd Wood (Mirehouse), on the A591 by the east shore of Bassenthwaite Lake — the path heads up through the trees, over a brook, and north past Sand Beds.

No regular bus serves the start points for this fell — this is one for the car (or a long approach from the nearest served valley). The nearest hubs are Penrith (X4/X5 & 508), Ambleside and Windermere (555, 505, 516).
