Keswick Agricultural Show is the northern Lakes' big traditional show, held on the August bank-holiday Monday in fields near Braithwaite, just outside Keswick. Expect prize Lakeland livestock (the Herdwicks are a highlight), heavy horses and fell ponies, sheepdog trials, hound and terrier classes, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, a fell race from the main ring, and horticulture and handicraft marquees.
Good to know: the 2026 show was on bank-holiday Monday 31 August — the next date will be on the official site (opens in new tab). It's an outdoor, very family-friendly day. In 2026 there was paid entry on the gate (cash or card), free parking next to the show field, dogs on leads were welcome, and a free vintage shuttle bus ran from Keswick (outside the Quaker Meeting House, opposite Booths) from 9am; check the official site for the next show's arrangements.
